Each calendar comes with a cardboard backdrop, and the items in the boxes add to the scene over the 24 days of the advent calendar.

Playmobil Advent Calendars Require Some Assembly
The Playmobil Advent Calendar comes in a box that shows the different characters that are available for each day. This box is also to help parents assemble the different animals, people, and other items that are then secreted away in the different days.
